Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Francis of Coal Run route, are announcing the marriage of their daughter Helen Loene to Cpl. Franklin W Allen, Son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Allen of Coal Run route. They were married at one o'clock Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Lowell. The ceremony was performed ath the home of Rev. Geo. S. Koch. Their only attendants were Miss Dorothy Fay Francis, sister of the bride, and Mr. Shirley M. Clark.

 

The bride wore a Navy blue suit, and a corsage of red roses, the maid of honor chose a pale blue street length dress with matching accessories. The bride is a graduate of Beverly high school, class of 1944.

 

Cpl. Allen has been in the Army since August, 1944, and is now stationed at Ft. Sill, Okla., where he will get his discharge in early spring.

Franklin Wayne Allen, 81, of Hackney died at 7:02 a.m. Friday (May 4, 2007) at his home.

 

He was born Jan. 3, 1926, in Center Township, Morgan County, a son of Harry Wayne and Belva West Allen. He had been an auto parts manager in Waterford for many years. He attended the Centerville School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He belonged to the Mount Olive Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

 

In addition to his wife, Helen L. Allen, he is survived by two sons, Ronald Allen , one daughter, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers, and one sister.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Robert Richard Allen, and a great-grandson, Jayson Allen Matson.
