1870 U.S. Census: Alice Jordan (Sarah's daughter) was Not living with Sarah and her 2nd husband in 1870. In 1880 she is with Sarah's parents - John (Age 64) and Isabell (Age62) Phillis, but I have been unable to find Alice anywhere in 1870.

...Mrs. Stringer was born May 10, 1862 in Morgan county.  She was formerly Alice F. Jordan, daughter of Charles and Sarah Jordan. 

 

 

1860 US Census:

Alice Jordan was living with John (Age 64) and Isabell (Age62) Phillis and their grandaughter Hattie B. The census states that Alice is their grandaughter and her occupation is Domestic Help. Census also states that both her mother and father where born in Ohio.

CAUTION: I have found almost no informatioan on this John or Charles Jordan. I have no idea if he and Sarah were divorced or if he died after Alice's birth. The only mention of him is on Alice's deth cert (as John Jordan) and in the artical on Alice's anniversary (as Charles Jordan).
