Isaac Pryor settled in this township in 1827, near Harriettsville. He was the father of Margaret, Jane, Lila, Maria, John and Howard. John is still living.

Isaac Pryor came from Belmont County to this township quite early, and remained here until his decease, in 1866.

 

 

THE FOLOWING WILL WAS FOUND IN THE NOBLE COUNTY, OHIO COURTHOUSE IN CALDWELL. IT  WAS LOCATED IN WILL BOOK VOLUME 1, PG. 165, CASE # 666, BOX # 26.

In the name of the Beloved Father of all I, Isaac Pryor of Noble County state of Ohio, do make and publish this my last will and testament. I give and devise to my beloved wife in lieu of her dower the farm on which we now reside, in the County of Noble, to wit, the North West qr of the North Quarter and the South West qr of the South West qr of Section 32 & 33 Town 3 Range 7, containing about Seventy five acres during the time She remains my widow, and all moneys and credits, Stock, household goods, furniture, provisions and other goods and chattles which may belong to me at the time of my decease, during the time She remains my widow as aforesaid, She however selling so much there of as may be necessary sufficient to pay my just debts.

At the marriage or death of my said wife the real estate aforesaid and so much of the said personal property or the proceeds there of, as may then remain unconsumed and unexpended, I give and devise to my five children and one Grandchild, to wit, Matilda Scott, Margaret Powell, John Pryor, Mariah Jane Hesson and Howard R. Pryor and my grandson Isaac Koon, to be equally divided share and share alike, provided my grandson Isaac Koon remain with my wife and takes care of her until he arrives to the age of twenty one years old, but if he does not remain and take care of my wife, as aforesaid then the real estate and personal property aforesaid to be equally divided among my five children, as foresaid, to wit. Matilda Scott, Margaret Powell, John Pryor, Mariah Jane Hesson and Howard R. Pryor and their heirs and assigns forever. In testimony where of I have here unto set my hand and Seal this ____ day of ____ in the year of our Lord 1852.
