  The History of Belmont and Jefferson Counties (pub. in 1880) page 306: George M. W. Stringer - Mr. Stringer was born in Belmount county in 1824, and is a son of William Stringer. He was raised a farmer, and received a common school education. In 1865 he married Miss Sarah Fitzgerald of Jerfferson county. They have six children, four daughters and two sons. The Stringer family were pioneers of Belmont County.
